Working principle and function of antistatic clothing

      Anti static clothing refers to the work clothes made of anti-static fabric in order to prevent the accumulation of static electricity on the clothing. Antistatic fabric is a kind of fabric which is made by mixing conductive fiber or antistatic synthetic fiber or mixed and interwoven according to a certain proportion at approximately equal intervals or evenly. Conductive fiber refers to the total name of the fiber made of all or part of the conductive materials or sub conductive materials of metal or organic matter, and its volume resistivity is between 104-109 Ω / cm. According to the distribution of the conductive components in the fiber, the conductive fibers can be divided into three types: uniform conductive component, covering conductive component and composite conductive component. At present, the vast majority of anti-static fabrics are made of conductive fibers, especially the composite type of conductive components, that is, composite fibers are most used.

The anti-static work clothes mainly use the corona discharge and leakage discharge mechanism of metal fiber, sub conducting fiber or anti-static synthetic fiber to eliminate the electrification of clothes and human body. That is to say, when the fabric is grounded, the static electricity on the fabric can not only be neutralized due to the corona discharge of the conductive fiber, but also be discharged to the earth through the conductive fiber; when the fabric is not grounded, the electricity is dissipated by the weak corona discharge of the conductive fiber.

The practice has proved that the anti-static work clothes can effectively suppress the static electricity of human body and clothing, eliminate or reduce the harm of electrostatic discharge.
